This Thanksgiving I really reflected on the last year and how thankful I was to have Nick home with us for a whole year…well minus about 2 and half months total he spent away in “training” . I am also thankful for the families who sacrificed their holidays with their loved ones to serve our country. My heart goes out to them and hope they can find cheer in the Holidays while deployed.
We started our Thanksgiving holiday celebration off with the Mom’s Morning Out Preschool Thankful Feast. They had a Turkey in the center of the table as decoration but the kids wrote things on their feathers they were thankful for of course the most said one was toys, and then following the number one of toys was the playground, mom, dad, Miss Connie, and Miss Karen. I am thankful for preschool this year. I think Carter has grown sociably and has accepted something new into his routine. I think we chose a wonderful program with great teachers and friends.
We had two feast on Thanksgiving. 1st we ate at Nick’s parents were we had fried Turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, pumpkin bread, stuffing, and for the sweets pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple jacks, cake with chocolate cream cheese icing. It was a yummy feast and the kids enjoyed playing outside while waiting for the meal to be served. Most importantly they love playing with Nick’s dad Ken! They love Grandaddy Bear
After we ate with the Harrell family we headed to eat with my Dad’s side of the family. Sorry I didn't get any photos of this event but it had yummy food as well. Nick’s favorite was my dad’s shrimp soup? not sure what you call it. I enjoyed the corn and rolls
By this point my kids were exhausted and not wanting to eat they enjoyed all the attention from the “younger” adults.
Thanksgiving week wouldn’t be complete with out a game at Carter Finley Stadium. Yes I will say I am thankful for this Stadium; for it is the name of my 1st born. There at Carter Finley Stadium we make sooo many memories as a family that I hope the kids will soon start remembering all the fun times we had and will have. Last year we spent Thanksgiving weekend with the Wolf Pack however in Maryland. We watched them lose –well we didn’t stay till the end if you refer to an older post you will remember it was freezing and me and the kids abandoned Nick in the stadium for warmth..Nick was soon to follow. This game was one we will for sure remember. The Pack came back from behind..yeah like 26+ points behind in the 4th quarter to win. What a memory to remember.
I hope this is a tradition we can keep up and see the WolfPack play and be Thankful for the memories we make!
