So you know we are all addicted to Pinterest…well most of us..ok I am for sure addicted to Pinterest. I love looking at all the good food to make and craft ideas. I love thinking that I could do that and pinning it to my board and then never actually trying to make it. Well..I ended my streak of pinning and not making and ended up trying to make a banana cake with brown sugar fluff icing. It was suppose to look like this:

however Pinterest lied and mine looked like this….
I have never had to make icing like this but it had step by step instructions surely it would turn out ok if I followed them. Yea…the flour that was suppose to dissolve in the milk on stove top never really did…and when I finally got to the part of putting the butter and brown sugar in with the flour and milk I ended up with crystalized soupy icing. The more I beat it the more it did thickin’ up but never to look like the picture stated it would. I was bummed and didn’t even try it for two days. Finally I attempted it. The cake was good and moist however, the icing had thick clumps of flour in it and I gave up and almost threw it out..until carter tried it. He thought it was delicious. I even caught him dipping his fingers in the icing while it was sitting on the stove. So maybe Pinterest was a success in Carter’s eyes..but in mine. NOT SO MUCH.

I hate it when that happens. Especially when you have been dying to make it...and then it totally disappoints.
